The clients brief was for the house to be redesigned completely. The view over the golf courses second tee box had to be maximised. The original foot print of the house was to be substantially increased to allow for a growing family with ample internal and external entertainment spaces overlooking the green belt dividing the residential homes from the golf course.
The house had to portray the couple’s young and easy going lifestyle. A first floor slab was proposed to raise the structure from the ground; this elevation provides for greater views of the neighbouring golf course. The use of steel, glass and natural materials was used extensively.
The design allows for natural light to flood the home from many different angles through out the day with adjustable sun shading louvers positioned to areas where light can be controlled.
